As a public employer we are required by Georgia Law Code Section 13-10-90 to use E-Verify to verify the work authorization of our newly hired employees. In addition, contractors providing services to Etowah are also required to register and use E-Verify for their newly hired employees. Prior to hiring any contractor for services, the contractor must provide Etowah with an affidavit attesting that the contractor is registered with and authorized to use the federal work authorization program. Additionally, the contractor must provide its user identification number, date of authorization and commit under oath to continue to use the federal work authorization contract throughout the relevant contract period.
